Looking to Volunteer?

Serving in Kids' Community gives you the opportunity to invest in the lives of children. As you invest you will experience great joy in watching your special group of children grow in the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ. You will also find yourself growing in your spiritual walk as you lead children in theirs. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Mark 10:45 (KJV)

What type of curriculum is used?

Our preschool classes use Gospel Light curriculum that provides fun, creative learning centers, group Bible lessons, as well as puppet, drama and music activities. Elementary grade classes use 252 Basic curriculum, which uses a virtue-based approach relating biblical truths to everyday life events. All curriculum and supplies will be provided each week, as well as regular training, so that you will be prepared to share Christ with your group each week.

How many kids will be in my classroom?

Room ratios are based upon the age of the children in the classroom. The following chart will help you gain a better understanding of the ratios within each room.

  • Infants & crawlers 4 children to 1 adult
  • Walkers 8 children to 1 adult
  • 3 to 5 years old 8 children to 1 adult
  • Kindergarten & 1st grade 10 children to 1 adult
  • 2nd grade to 5th grade 15 children to 1 adult

What do I need to do first?

Each potential volunteer will first speak with a Kids' Community staff member to talk about your initial areas of interest. You will then need to complete an application. A background check will be performed on all applicants to ensure the safety and well being of our children. Once these are completed you will be paired up with one of our area directors for initial placement and training.

Can I volunteer to help with special events?

We have several special events each year and would love for you to share your gifts and talents in preparation activities, as well as on event days. You can volunteer for these events only or combine these activities with your service on Sunday or Wednesday.

How do I know what area is right for me?

Our staff will work with you to find your perfect fit in Kids' Community.
